Our Interior Design Obsessions for Spring 2023

Spring is in the air! The weather is warming up, California is in full super bloom, and the real estate market is ready for some fresh inventory + styling. When it comes to designing stagings our team is always staying up to date with the trends and putting our own twist on the latest. Here’s a peek into the inspiration our team will be pulling from this season!

Soft Spring

California saw a very wet winter this year, which many of us did not love, but it lead to the super bloom that we are now enjoying! With wildflowers lining every road and the hills green and lush we are loving the idea of bringing these soft touches and hues into our homes. Complimenting the season means we are using lighter fabrics such as linen in a lot of our designs. Shades of pastel are making an appearance in bathrooms, living spaces, and bedrooms to fit the soft natural light. Vases, perfect for fresh flowers are popping up in our kitchens and dining spaces. All to bring that feeling of spring into the home.

This pastel bedroom features one of our favorite pieces from the BlueGrape Studio, the Dimpled Vase, perfect for adding a touch of pastel pink or blue to any space.

Shades of Blue

One of our favorite things about the changing season is seeing the color that emerges as the standout. This season we are seeing lots of shades of blue having their moment! Maybe it is the rise of the coastal-grandmother aesthetic mixed with a cape code summer trend on the horizon but colors like indigo sky blue, and denim, are popping up everywhere.

Vintage Modern

Classic vintage never goes out of style! As TikTok and other social media platforms start to highlight home styling for younger generations on a budget though, we are seeing a revamp of a lot of vintage pieces. Whether it’s a refurbished bookcase or accents that evoke that old-timey feeling, we are seeing a lot of these touches make their way into newer homes. We especially love when an older home gets a flip but the owners keep some of those charming touches, like the 1940s home we staged recently, it gives us a chance to really blend both vintage and modern styles!

Eclectic Accents

As homeowners settle into their new spaces they are styling their homes with more unique and personal touches. Our team is always looking for ways that we can stage a house to already feel like a home and a big trend we are taking advantage of is making use of eclectic accents that feel unique! Sculptural pieces are a great way to add something interesting to a space that catches people’s eye and makes them ask, ‘What is the story behind that piece?’. Custom artwork is another way to bring in something different that can tell a story in the home. In our 2023 Design Trends post, we talk about mixing & matching design styles as a way to make a space uniquely yours and it’s something that has carried over into our designs this spring as well!
